Military Aviation

Jon Kettles has successfully represented families of Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine service members in aviation wrongful death cases against aircraft manufacturers involving the: McDonnell-Douglas AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter, Boeing CH-47 Cargo Helicopter, Grumman F-14 Fighter, Bell AH-1W Attack Helicopter, and C-21 Learjet.

Jon Kettles was a pilot/engineer in the Engineering Division of the U.S. Army Safety Center – the center responsible for investigating Army aviation accidents. As an Army Captain, he also flew combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, flew fixed-wing reconnaissance on the East German border, and was an Army helicopter pilot on the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in Korea.

Aircraft manufacturers who supply military aircraft, have special legal protections from being held responsible for their conduct; but under certain circumstances, manufacturers of defective military aircraft can be held accountable.

As a former military pilot and accident investigator, Jon Kettles knows the military system. As an experienced aviation attorney, he knows the complex legal field of government contractor defenses – and how to get around them.
