Kettles 
Jon Kettles holds
the highest pilot and flight instructor ratings the Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) awards
-- the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and Instrument Flight
Instructor (CFII) ratings -- in both airplanes and helicopters.
Jon Kettles has
represented people around the country in virtually every kind
of personal injury and wrongful death aviation case –
from pilot error cases to complex product failures.
Mr. Kettles grew
up in an aviation family, is trained as an engineer, and is
an accomplished pilot and flight instructor. He now applies
his experience in the field to help people who find themselves
in the midst of the personal tragedy of being the victim of
an aircraft accident.
Experience
in Aviation Law
Mr. Kettles is a graduate of the Southern Methodist University
School of Law, which publishes the oldest journal dedicated
to aviation law. He also holds a Masters of Science in Business
Administration from Boston University. He has worked with
some of the legends of aviation law such as Windle Turley
and John Howie.
Mr. Kettles has
represented plaintiffs in cases involving: defective aircraft
product designs; military aircraft design; insurance coverage
and waivers; air traffic control mistakes; adverse weather
operations; complex corporate veil issues; kit-manufactured
aircraft; accidents in foreign countries; and a broad range
of pilot/operator negligence issues.

Technical
Background
Mr. Kettles holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering
and has worked in the area of accident investigation and aircraft
safety improvement programs in the Engineering Division of
the U.S. Army Safety Center.
As a former Army
Captain, Mr. Kettles’ flight experience ranges from
low-level helicopter operations in Korea to fixed-wing reconnaissance
in Europe and Saudi Arabia and trans-Atlantic aircraft delivery
flights.
